About ScoredApps

What this site is

ScoredApps reviews mobile apps and games one at a time. Every product on the site was installed on a real phone, used for at least a week, and then scored out of ten. There is no aggregation of other people's ratings and no summarising of store descriptions.

How a product gets picked

We start from what people are actually trying to decide between, not from what is trending. If a product has a free tier with a limit that is hard to find, a permission request that deserves explaining, or a price that is hard to compare, it is a candidate. Popularity helps but does not decide.

How the score works

Five criteria, each scored out of ten and each with a written justification on the page: core function, ease of use, monetisation, performance, and privacy and permissions. Games swap two of those for gameplay and controls. The headline number is the weighted average, and the reasoning sits next to it so you can disagree with it specifically rather than generally.

One rule about the score

At least one criterion in every review must be lower than the others, and it gets the most detailed explanation. A review where everything is excellent is not a review, it is a listing. If we cannot find a real weakness, the product does not get published until we have looked harder.

Independence

No payment is accepted for a review, a score, a ranking, or for being included at all. No developer sees a review before publication and no developer can have one removed. Developers are welcome to send information; it is treated as a claim to check, not a fact to publish.

Corrections

Apps change. Every page carries the date its specifications were last checked and the date the review was last updated. When we get something wrong we fix it on the page and say what changed. Report anything wrong through Contact.
